TCC's Illegal Alien Crime Update 9/21/21

Despite denial by open borders advocates, illegal aliens add to the crime problem in the United States. The stories below give some recent examples.

UPDATE: Attorneys Beg Joe Biden to Free Illegal Alien Acquitted of Killing Kate Steinle

Attorneys are pleading with President Joe Biden to free from federal prison the seven-time felon, five-time deported illegal alien acquitted of murdering 32-year-old Kate Steinle in 2015.

Following Steinle’s 2015 killing on a pier in San Francisco, illegal alien Jose Garcia Zarate was charged with her murder after being caught on surveillance footage running from the shooting.

After his arrest, Garcia Zarate admitted to shooting and killing Steinle, who was walking on the pier at the time with her father, saying he chose San Francisco because it was a sanctuary city that shields criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation by federal immigration officials. On November 30, 2017, Garcia Zarate was found not guilty of murdering Steinle.

Following the verdict, Garcia Zarate was hit with federal gun charges by the Department of Justice (DOJ). In February 2020, as Breitbart News reported, he was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial for the charges. Now, Garcia Zarate’s attorneys are asking Biden to free him:

Last month, a federal judge in California appointed a psychiatrist to re-evaluate Garcia Zarate so that he can stand trial eventually for the federal gun charges.

The judge said the Bureau of Prisons had told him in June that they “had restored the defendant to competency” but that competency was questioned when Garcia Zarate refused to listen to his attorneys.

NC: Illegal Alien Charged With 2012 Murder, Was Once Released Due To Sanctuary Policy

DURHAM, NC - On Thursday, Miguel Enrique Salguero-Olivares, 28, was arrested by agents with the North Carolina Bureau of Investigation at a residence in the 4200 block of Garrett Road on a bench warrant out of Wake County.

He has been charged with the grisly, 2012 murder of University of North Carolina (UNC) student, 19-year-old Faith Hedgepeth. Despite his immigration status, Salguero-Olivares was released back onto the streets because, since taking office on December 3, 2018, Wake County Sheriff Gerald M. Baker has refused to enforce ICE holds, turning Wake into a ‘sanctuary county’ for criminal aliens.

On Sept. 7, 2012, Hedgepeth’s body was found in her off-campus apartment, she had been beaten to death. An autopsy report discovered that she had been raped. Salguero-Olivares has been charged with first-degree murder, and is currently being held at the Durham County Detention Center without bond.

*It should be noted that the city of Durham, Wake County and Orange County (where UNC is located) have all implemented sanctuary policies for illegal aliens. As more details about this case emerge, we will likely see more evidence of how those policies may have allowed this murder suspect to stay on the streets for the last nine years.

Second Illegal Alien In Two Days Charged With Raping Girlfriend's Daughter In NC

Name: Jose Luis Garcia Location: Catawba County. Charge(s): Second-Degree Forcible Rape and Sex Act by a Substitute Parent/Guardian

*Only a day before Garcia's arrest, Ivan Edilberto Lainez Fernandez was arrested in Carteret County and also charged with Sex Act by a Substitute Parent/Guardian (along with Statutory Rape of a Child (Victim Under 15) and Indecent Liberties with a Child).

North Carolina's children are under daily assault by those here illegally, while Gov. Roy Cooper (D) sits by and allows the sheriffs of Buncombe, Forsyth, Wake and Mecklenburg Counties (as well as the city of Durham) to implement 'sanctuary' policies for criminal aliens. These local officials are allowed to protect illegal aliens, though six years ago, such policies were banned in that state.

On October 29, 2015, North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory signed into law House Bill 318, known as the Protect North Carolina Workers Act, which, among other things, banned cities and counties across the state from enacting so-called 'sanctuary policies' to shield illegal aliens from deportation, after being apprehended for other crimes.

The flouting of this law is undoubtedly playing a key role in this ongoing abomination in the Tarheel State...When an illegal alien is set free from one county's jail, nothing is protecting the children in the county next door.

Police: Illegal Alien Repeatedly Raped Child For Six Years In Kansas

WICHITA, KS - On September 7, police arrested Jaime Torres-Cordero, 39, following an investigation conducted by detectives with the Wichita Police Department’s Exploited and Missing Child Unit.

The victim was reportedly sexually abused over a period of several years. “During the investigation, detectives developed cause to believe Torres-Cordero had engaged in unlawful sexual activity with a minor in the home,” Officer Trevor Macy said in a news release. “The unlawful sexual activity is believed to have occurred multiple times over a period of approximately six years.”

Torres-Cordero has been charged with rape (victim under 14), five counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, two counts of aggravated sodomy and indecent liberties with a child. He is currently being held at the Sedgwick County Jail on an ICE detainer.

*Though the fact that Torres-Cordero is in the country illegally is readily available from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, not one media outlet (except for US Illegal Alien Crime Report) felt it important enough to report.

The Conservative Caucus is a grassroots public policy action organization, formed in 1974. It was active in defeating the SALT II Treaty, repealing the Catastrophic Coverage Act, blocking the Clinton health-care takeover, securing the impeachment of President Clinton by the House of Representatives, stopping amnesty for illegal aliens, persuading the House of Representatives to sue President Obama regarding ObamaCare, and promoting the confirmation of Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett.

TCC supports increased border security and the passage of Federal legislation to punish sanctuary jurisdictions by cutting off Federal aid.
